Andrew Marr's Megacities - Living In The City - Episode 1 Review

Andrew Marr's Megacities - Living In The City - Episode 1 tells about four megacities in the world such as Shanghai, Dhaka, Tokyo, Mexico, and London. The author tells about the most exciting places on the earth that
are brim with optimism, energy, and fun. As it is said, Shanghai is the new capital of the world and it is the most dynamic megacity on the planet. It is said that in the near future a big amount of people would live in cities
but not in villages that could be explained by a development of agriculture and technologies that help to grow plants.

For ten years only Shanghai converted from a rather poor city to a city that is developed, modern and successive. Though, there are old parts of the city where people live still and they do not want to be evicted.
Skyscrapers are the ultimate symbol of a city (Cabinet Secretary names team to modernize Nairobi city transport: Kenya's The Standard, 2017). A half of million migrants arrive in Dhaka every yea to a place of poverty, transport chaos and pollution.

Tokyo is described to be the largest city on the earth, thirty-three million of people live there. Also, flats are small and they do not have corridors even, only small passes. Most of the buildings are from glass and they are quite transparent (Reagor, 2016). A lot of companies construct their buildings in London. A new skyscraper from the glass is under construction there having a form of a triangle as well. Apartments would be very expensive there but people could admire a beautiful view all over the city (Andrew Marr's Megacities - Living In The City - Episode 1, 2015). Mexico City is shown in the program as one of the most dangerous cities in the world. It is the rather polluted city of 20 million people living there. A crime level is high, there are 3 murders a day and around of 500 kidnaps a month in this city.

To conclude, it should be noted that all these five big cities are huge and beautiful having a lot of work places, but also having a lot of problems as well. All of them are rather polluted and there is a quite big amount of crime level (Dhaka, Mexico City). Despite such troubles, people live a happy life there because they are glad to have a job and a house.
