Education Strategies
Reading can be systematized and organized to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness to the learner. There are various strategies that can be used to enhance the effectiveness of reading. Three strategies that were utilized during the study period are reflected upon below.
Strategy Number 2
Strategy number 2 was used every Monday, and its strategy statement was to search for the important information in the text being studied. This strategy was used in the study, of course, UF100. It was applied when studying the text during my preparation for the quiz. It enabled me to understand the main points as well as grasp the core ideas being explained in the text.
I did not encounter any difficulties per se when using this strategy. In fact, the strategy worked so well that I was able to pass my quiz effortlessly by scoring 10 points. This strategy was valuable to me as I was able to understand the text as well as pass my quiz. I will maintain this strategy in the future when studying to comprehend the text being studied.
Strategy Number 19
Strategy number 19 was used on 16th October 2015, and its strategy statement was that the text should be reviewed after one had finished reading it. This strategy was used in the study, of course, UF100. The Strategy was applied when reviewing the text that I had just finished studying, so as to understand the main points along with the core information being conveyed in the text.I did not encounter any difficulties per se when using this strategy. In fact, I was able to understand and even memorize the main information being conveyed in the text. This strategy was valuable to me as I was able to understand clearly the text I was studying. I will keep on using this strategy in the future when studying to comprehend better the text being studied.
Strategy Number 34
Strategy number 34 was used last Friday, and its strategy statement was that one should vary the reading style. This strategy was used in the study, of course, UF100. This strategy was applied as I do use several reading styles when reading different texts and also when studying a text.
I did encounter some difficulties when using this strategy as it proved slightly difficult to study some text using this strategy. For instance, studying a poem requires a different reading style as compared to reading an essay. As such, I had to select the best reading style when studying the text.This strategy was valuable to me as I was able to understand clearly the text I was studying. I will maintain this strategy in the future when studying to comprehend the text being studied.
