FEMA is a governmental institution of the United States Department of Homeland Security. The main task of the agency is to prepare for, respond to and to recover from all possible hazards and natural disasters, which take place all over the United States of America (About the Agency). The highlighted actions of the agency come into force when a local governor proclaims emergency event and applies to FEMA. Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act provides organization with authority to coordinate nationwide emergency efforts. Ethical decision making and social responsibility come along with the core principle of the agency – FEMA’s sustainability. FEMA is responsible for the activities connected to preparation, respond actions, recovery measures and mitigation programs. Environmental Health Training in Emergency Response (EHTER) is a special program designed by FEMA, which prepares emergency workers for environmental actions. With the help of EHTER, HR of the organization should recruit more individuals who are not familiar with environmental issues, but are talented in other aspects of FEMA’s activities.
