The digital platform has grown in leaps and bounds over the last two decades. This has given rise to increased information at our fingertips, thereby driving the hunger for more information even higher, because it is attainable. Since then the internet has become more mainstream and has changed the way people choose to acquire information. A good example, where previously there were only print newspapers, now there is digital news, where one can read the newspaper easily and conveniently through their phone whenever they choose to. Existing media houses have diversified into providing digital news to their readers. Other companies have also gone digital with there being a need for strong online presence in terms of having a website and a good social media following, just to name a few. (Your company name here) is a social media company that has grown rapidly over the past three years and now needs to formally have a human resource department to streamline and manage all human resource needs internally. (Your company name here) strategy is to maintain a reputation of trust and stellar work so as to ensure they remain relevant in the industry and are formidable competitors who can be trusted by large and small clients alike. In the long run the company does not seek to venture in to social media only, but itis their strategy not only for the present but also for perpetuity.
In the next five to ten years the company will expand both in terms of physical space and in terms of its client base. For physical expansion, there will be more branches to serve a wider area of people in and outside the state. In terms of client base the company is always on the hunt for new clients so as to keep growing, and these clients will not only come from one state but from many states. Futuristically speaking the company may also buy other companies and it may also merge with a bigger company, to have a firmer hold on the industry in the years to come.
For the strategy to work effectively there must be a solid human resource strategy that will work in tandem with the overall company strategy and forecasted goals (Battaglio, 2015). The strategies I would go with for growth and expansion would be the committed expert and bargain laborer HR. The bargain laborer HR strategy seeks to acquire short term employees so as to reduce costs. The committed expert HR strategy seeks to acquire long term employees who will work to produce unique services, or who will produce work that is formidable on a competitive level with other organizations (Truss, Catherine, David Mankin, Kellaher, 2012).
