Learning Portfolio
During this marketing course I have learnt many key ideas and information concerning the field of marketing. Before taking this course I have thought that this science limits to personnel selling and advertising. Now I understand that this field of study is much wider and affects everyone and everything in the world. Moreover, I have learnt that every day we make marketing decision in our lives. My knowledge of marketing includes a lot of concepts; some of the main are marketing mix of 4 P’s (product, price, place and promotion), marketing segmentation, positioning, and program. I have also studied important principles how to make marketing discoveries and satisfy clients’ wants and needs.
During this course I have encountered many real marketing examples and made actual decisions by myself. The concepts and information which I learnt will be useful for my future life in many aspects and I can apply them in many spheres of my life. However, the most significant is that due to the obtained knowledge I can apply for a good job. This knowledge will help me to work either in a large corporation such as Apple, Ford, Facebook or chase my own marketing career in small business. I will use information from the content of the course in my personal life while making everyday decisions as a buyer due to the fact that I am keener on it now.
I have learnt that marketing knowledge and actions connect to many other spheres of our lives. For example, marketing department in the organization works very tightly with other departments to supply customer-satisfying products which are significant for organization’s prolific work and survival. Such spheres of study as finance, research and development, human resource and informational systems integrate with marketing and together make the whole picture of the economical life of the country or organization. Without any exaggeration, marketing decisions have impact on the entire society and these decisions connect with environmental forces such as economic, technological, competitive, social and regulatory.
This course has definitely changed me in important way. The knowledge of marketing, its main concepts and principles and understanding the nature of it helped me to become better and more aware consumer and informized citizen. Moreover, gained information assisted me in my further career planning and shaped my choice of what exactly I want to reach in my life. After taking this course I have the whole picture of how the world of advertisement and social media works to attract customers and how exactly marketing satisfies community needs. I concluded that marketing is just a part of us, our everyday activities and the knowledge of it helps to navigate my life and make correct decisions.
