Your ideas about dealing with the drug problem are highly rational. It is actually important to pay more attention to the core of the problem and not in its consequences as it would help to prevent any negative sequences and decrease its expansion. Moreover, as you say, the actions aimed to prevent the problem and not to fight it would decrease the expenses. In that way, your arguments are extremely reasonable. However, you also mention that legalization of drugs would help to create a conversation and that educating people would also decrease the wish to start taking drugs. However, in my opinion, there are enough different educational programs in the United States that are focused on different social and age groups. Moreover, there are numerous punishments for those who are related to drugs. Despite these facts, such programs do not have the shocking influence, and it might be reasonable to reorganize this field of action too.

I agree with your point that it is time to reorganize campaigns intended to combat drugs and all the more to end the war on drugs. You claim that it would be right to legalize drugs in order to decrease their expansion. It is also a good point as the examples of foreign countries show that such position could be extremely effective. Actually, it is important to understand what is the reason of the problem in order to deal with it instead of fighting with its consequences. Moreover, it is important for everyone to understand that drugs are a problem of public health. The example of Portugal is vivid for everyone who thinks that drug legalization would cause the, even more, addiction level. I absolutely agree with all your ideas regarding the actions that should be implemented in order to deal with the drug problem.
