Entry, Parole, and Probation Reform Outline

1. Ethos would help me show my understanding of different aspects of this complex and multifaceted problem. Discussing data from different peer-reviewed, reliable sources with a focus on scholarly journals and official reports will enable me to combine accuracy, relevance, and the required level of authority on the subject. “Advances in Juvenile Justice Reform” is one of the sources to be used here.

2. I would use logos to introduce the facts, available evidence, statistical data, and research in the relevant fields. The statistical data of prison reentry (Bushway) and studies on ex-prisoners behavior patterns are important issues in this context (Cnaan et al; Draine, Jeffrey, et. al.; Listwan, Shelley J., Francis T. Cullen and Edward J. Latessa). Other aspects to be reviewed include discussing the reforms that need to be made in the justice system (Petersilia), effective educational programs for ex-prisoners (Tyler and Kling), and other relevant aspects. Logos will be important for structuring my paper in a consistent and easy-to-follow manner.

3. The usage of pathos in this argumentative paper will address such issues as integration of former prisoners into society and communities and strategies to be used by different parties to this challenging process (Unruh, Gau and Waintrup). The problem of reducing recidivism cannot be resolved without implementing effective re-entry interventions. Articles studying the issue from different points of views, with the problem of whether institutions responsible for the inmate re-entry provide the necessary help to help ex-prisoners will be reviewed (Serin, R. C. et al.). These problems include the aspects of empathy and moral support. They will be useful for having an integrated vision of the problem, with its complex and multiple factors.

The use of the three major rhetorical strategies will provide a better understanding of the subject and will be helpful for educating the public and raising its awareness of the problem that is important for modern society.
