The article is related to the topic of cultural difference in context of leadership. Attempt of worldwide corporations to build strong system of leadership. However, such intention is challenged by the following factors.
DIFFERENCES IN SUCCESSFUL LEADERSHIP
Characteristics of successful leader vary all over the world. To illustrate, successful leadership in emerging economies depends on operational fulfillment. On the contrary, developing economies prefer rapid and effective entrance of individuals into market, paying attention to hiring, managing and training processes. Successful leadership in USA in UK includes characteristics of both previously mentioned approaches. As it follows from hereinabove, characteristics of successful leadership vary depending on economic and cultural features of each country.
IMPLICATIONS FOR DEVELOPENT
Challenges for Expats. Expat assignment impedes effective leadership rather than contributes it. To explain, it is hard and challenging to prepare individuals to changes in culture and management processes. As an example, misunderstanding may arise in such issues as decision-making process, role of women in management et cetera.
Local Leadership Building. It is in correspondence with business growth to develop leaders within but not outside the country. This alternative to expat assignment benefits culture of corporations. In addition, it positively influences on a manner of leading business. That is why leadership should be built within domestic country instead of diffusion in common management style.
CONCLUSION
The article has demonstrated interconnection between leadership and cultural differences. Distinctive views on operational activity and company management depend on cultural and economic features of each country. They challenge potential leadership of foreigners. Alternative approach lies in developing leadership on a local level. It shows the best effectiveness as it benefits both culture and business growth in corporations.
