Professional Goal
I have graduated from St. Thomas University, where I completed the Bachelor program of Business Administration in Management. This program provides me business–related knowledge that can be applied in any industry. I have learned fundamentals related to accounting, marketing, finance and business strategy. During the years of studies in the University, I was working at the University Office of Admissions. I was responsible for maintaining documents to support university database, preparing bulk mailings for Admissions Office, checking inventory and assisting in organization of events attracting a range of 50-150 prospective students.
This experience gave me a practical insight in operational and marketing areas. Currently I am looking to engage into the MBA program in Cyber security management at St. Thomas University. My interest in the program is twofold. After receiving a broad education in the Business Administration in Management, I would like to narrow the scope of my studies. I am looking to become a professional in a very specific area. Secondly, in my opinion, cyber security management is a very attractive and interesting domain nowadays. The use of virtual environments, computer databases and information technology has grown in recent years. Companies become more concerned with protection of data.
High-stand professionals in the are will be always demanded. In addition to private sector, there is a constant need in cyber security management in government agencies, police forces and defense organizations. Currently, there is a skills shortage of cyber security practitioners globally. Learning the cyber security management will allow me to find good and well-paid job opportunities. The MBA will make a good fit to my current education. I think it will broaden my current knowledge about business practices and will allow me to focus on efficient and secure business operations. As a result of the MBA education, I will have a sound technical background applicable to the business environment and organizational needs. I will have a comprehensive understanding of the computer security sector, which is vital for any company competing in the marketplace. Due to the program, I will learn the cyber security management practices, tools, processes, and major functional activities related to protection of organization from threats, attacks, damages and unauthorized accesses. I will enhance my knowledge in computer science, law and criminal justice. This education will allow me to reach my goal of becoming a professional in a narrow domain, related to the business environment. After this, I will be able to develop in this area and grow further as a professional.
After completing the MBA, my professional goal is to become a Chief Information Security Officer for one of the Fortune-500 companies or a government agency. I am looking for a leadership position and think that my previous educational background in Business Administration in Management coupled with the MBA program will be very helpful.
