It should be stated that a look of the website, its style and feelings to which it appeals are very important for the hospitality company. For The Resort at Pelican Hill, Newport Beach as a 5-star luxury hotel, the website is a first way to make an ideal impression on the client. The website opens with the picturesque landscape of the hotel situated on the ocean beach. In the upper side of the page menu items are situated.
The website proposes information on the resort itself, its history and activities that take place on its territory. Moreover, a tourist can find detailed data on the description of the villas and bungalows with the focus on the dining experience that the resort proposes to its guests. Furthermore, such additional services as Spa, weddings ceremony, business meetings and other events can be easily found on the website. I must admit that the navigation is easy and all the information about the resort and its services is divided into the thematic subsections wisely. It should be underlined that on the each page that is opened the client can find a phone number – a contact of a resort’s manager that is ready to plan client’s visit and to help in the organization of the perfect trip. Regarding three appealing components of the website, I must admit that they are pictures and graphics, colors and consistency that means that colors, headings size and supporting data fonts are consistent throughout the site.
However, I would like to argue that the fonts are not clear, therefore, it is not very convenient to read. In addition, you need to scroll to the bottom of the page to see additional information such as seasonal activities or exclusive privileges. Moreover, in order to read the final info, for instance, about the types of bungalows, it is needed to make three steps. It is time consuming; therefore, the area of usability can be improved to provide the details on the services after the first click. It has to be stated that the reservation process was easy and apprehensible.
