Sexual Harassment
Imagine that the female worker reaches out to the individual who is in the position of the Human Resource Department. She wants to complain about the colleague of the opposite sex because of his awkward behavior. According to her, the male creates an adverse work atmosphere by asking her out on dates intrusive and regularly even after being turned away. She perceives it as a sexual harassment and feels difficulties in keeping working.
The female worker will be named as Tamika whereas the men will be Terrance. The imaginary conversation should be like:
Tamika: Good afternoon! I am Tamika, and I am working in the accounts department. I am so sorry, but I cannot stand the behavior of my male colleague anymore. This issue makes my working climate very tense and rigorous.
Me: Nice to see you, Tamika. You should not apologize. I am really sorry to hear that you have had to face such a situation. Please, can you clarify what exactly has happened?
Tamika: His name is Terrance, and he works with me in the same department. He terrifies me. I told him many times that I do not want to spend time with him, but he continues to pester me. I do not know what to think because there is nothing I can do to stop him.
Me: Our organization has a zero-tolerance policy for the sexual harassment, bullying and other. We will give Terrance a serious demerit and show him that he must change his behavior or otherwise our cooperation with him will be terminated. Thank you so much for coming here. It will never happen again.
Tamika: I appreciate your help.
After this, I will come and speak with Terrance. It will sound like: “Sir, I found out that you have been sexually harassing your co-worker repeatedly. You have asked her to spend time with you despite the fact that she has refused to do it. Our company has a strict ethical code, so we consider such behavior as a serious offense. I am notifying you that you can be brought to a trial for this if you do not change your behavior. Our organization has the full authority to take all measures.
