Snow White Analysis
This fairy tale is deeply symbolical and has various important themes which are culturally embedded in it.The fairy tale has deep connection with the topics of woman’s life development. The concept of blood falling at the snow in the beginning stresses the contrast between sexuality and innocence.
Also, this reflection is symbolically denoting the menstruation and the start of the puberty. While staying in the forest with the dwarves, Snow White is getting prepared to her adult life, rehearses her motherhood (yet without men) and is taught to do around the house for the dwarves.Further, the story speaks of the nascent rivalry between mother and daughter. The image of the evil stepmother represents the conventional mother not from fairy tale, which is jealous of the growing girl. Her every action is connected with preventing Snow White from independent actions and thinking. A poisoned comb symbolizes the desire of mother to keep her child from growing up, since the uncombed hair symbolizes freedom. A poisoned apple embodies an excessive maternal love, her omnipotence and the fear of her girl becoming an adult. This is a reminder for the mother that it is necessary to rebuild the relations with his daughter and recognize her right to choose her own path.
Also, the awakening of the Snow White is accidental, and take place when of the prince’s servants stumbles on the brush and drops the coffin.
