The 4 Hour Work Week: A Lifestyle Design Paper

Lifestyle design is when you realign your lifestyle to make the most of it by building your income in a way that serves you. It is pursuing the life you want without being restrained by the usual constraints such as bosses, vacation policies, monthly bills, etc. The secret to this lifestyle is to be the dealmaker. In this new way of living, you make things work out for you by living the life you want without waiting so long to be rich.

I can apply lifestyle design to my life by changing the way I think things through. It helps to get rid of self-defeating assumptions that were ingrained to our system by society. Every time spent with someone or doing something should be beneficial to me or should be fulfilling for me. I learned that saying no saves time and effort from trivial matter and helps me focus on my priorities.

Having a clear direction saves people time, money, and effort. Knowing what I want to do with my money makes it easier to focus on reaching my goals rather than exhausting all energy in earning money and get to do the things we want later on. It also prevents me to dwell on things that distract me and lets me start on doing things that will lead me to my goals.

Eliminating time-consuming tasks and time wasters is the most convenient of the things I have learned in the book. Time is as precious as gold and must not …
