Why Studying Organizational Behavior Matters
Organizational behavior matters, because it is essentially the difference between a company where you force yourself to go to work with colleagues that exhibit the worst of qualities and waking up every morning with the intent of conquering the world while being surrounded with like-minded people that are friendly and goal-oriented. Just like in any family or in society as a whole, people and groups interact with one another on different matters on a daily. Doing so in a harmonious manner will allow for general prosperity to follow. Business processes are interdependent which is why every individual matters for the company’s performance. Organizational behavior strongly relies on social sciences and psychology. When joining an organization, one is originally concerned with his personal growth, yet the interpersonal relations that are yet to form are important for the organization's competence and overall group dynamics within. Good cultural strength from within a company is key for the successful operation and survival on the market. For managers and generally all top tier position holding individuals it is important to get their employees to work as efficiently as possible, which involves finding a way to motivate each and every single one of them. This means there is a necessity to understand people and how they operate in the workplace. This is why having a clear understanding of organizational behavior is important to any successful organization.
