Anglicare
Background
Anglicare is a charity organization based in Australia that aims to provide holistic care – emotional, financial, social, and spiritual – to vulnerable populations. The organization caters to various populations including women, children, families, the elderly, and people from different racial groups. The nature of care offered by Anglicare is varied including foster care, physical and mental health care services, financial support for disadvantaged populations, care for the disabled and the elderly, and even asylum seekers and refugees (Anglicare, 2015). Anglicare also implements outreach programs and hosts classes taught in ESL (Anglicare, 2015a).
StakeholdersPrimary stakeholders are those that internally or directly transact with a company or organization (Edwards & Bowen, 2013). Anglicare’s primary stakeholders include those within the organization such as the Board or directors, members of the management, staff members or employees, and volunteers. Anglicare also benefits the Church because the organization’s initiatives contributes to missionary and ministry activities. Primary stakeholders outside the organization include the direct recipients of services such as children, families, the disabled and the elderly, people suffering from physical and mental health conditions, the disadvantaged, and members of the minority, Anglicare’s sponsors and donors, and partner organizations. Secondary stakeholders are those that do not directly transact with a company or organization but are affected by the latter’s operations (Edwards & Bowen, 2013).
Anglicare’s secondary stakeholders include local communities that benefit from improved quality of care and welfare for citizens and the recipients’ families. Anglicare also helps recipients’ families care for their loved ones and find a way to improve their situation. In a way, Anglicare’s services as a private institution also benefits the government because it supports social welfare initiatives and widens the scope as well as fills in the gap in social welfare.
