Communication Plan

An elaborative communication plan during project implementation is critical since it elaborates the progress attained. Communication plan is vital since it outlines all aspects of a project such as key milestones to be achieved, timeline, activities and project costs. Besides, such a plan enables the project team to seek opinions and gather recommendations from other stakeholders on strategies necessary to enhance chances of project success.

Letavec (183) explains that some of the status included in a communication plan include plan purpose and approach. The plan must describe the reasons for implementation of the project that is, the project’s necessity. Besides, the plan must contain communication goals and the objectives of developing it. The project roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders involved in the project are other key status that must be included in the communication plan (Letavec 183). In addition, the plan must also contain the communication channels as well as the reporting process. A dashboard will be necessary to remind the project team of the progress of the project implementation process. This dashboard will contain critical project information. The dashboard must be implemented regularly for effective communication process. Among the audiences of this communication plan include the project sponsors, manager and the company management team. However, the project team members are the main audience of the communication plan since they are responsible for the project implementation process.

The reporting process will be a prerogative of the project team. The project team are the custodians of the plan since they are responsible for the entire project. These Project team members will report and present the plan to all stakeholders. They will be responsible of explaining the plan to other organizational employees’ involved in the project. The project team, as a result, will be the link between the organization, WBS and the project process. The reporting will take place once fortnight for effective communication.
