U.S. Constitution: Article 2

At present time the question of executive power is the subject of wide speculation and it is necessary to examine the definite part of the supreme law of the United States.

Article II of U.S. Constitution determines, that the executive is given to the President. The article describes the election procedure and the requirements to the presidential candidate, the oath, which the head of the state takes when assuming the office, and his powers. Also the institution of the Vice President of the USA, who is elected simultaneously with the President, is introduced in the text. The Amendment XXV established the rule that the Vice President takes the presidency in case of preschedule termination of his powers. The section 2 of Article II refers to "the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments" ("U.S Senate: a Constitution of the United States"). In fact, this is the only mention of the office of the President of the United States — the analogue of the government.

The most interesting thing is that at the time when the session of the Senate is closed, the President has the ability to make a temporary appointment of an official, which usually requires the consent of the Senate. At the same time the President may likewise appoint the judges. The powers of such person continue not later than until the end of the next session. In event that if the Senate confirms the appointment at the next session, it becomes permanent. But I believed, that the head of the state has to make such decision only by common agreement with the Senate.

To sum up I would like to point out that Article two defines the executive of the country and the authority of the President and Vice President.
