USC 2016 Military Dependent Scholarship Program Letter
First of all, I’d like to say that I want to take part in USC 2016 Military Dependent Scholarship program because I always opened for new challenge and acquaintance. And I also think that it’s a great opportunity for my future life.
I think that my most significant accomplishments in my education life are that I was able to complete 12 college credit hours and was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society, invited to join the National Honor Society. Also, I participated in High School sports all while maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA. I was a tutor for elementary students during my weekends. It was really pleasant time. I knew that it was a great responsibility on me because kids learn everything you tell them very fast. So I had to be very careful about what I say and do. I’ve got a good experience while doing this. And maybe in future when someone of these kids will grow up and become a successful and good person I can be sure that I was a part of his or her education. I was a volunteer at the food bank. Not everybody of us is lucky to have a wealthy family so I think that we must help each. And even if rich people can spend their time and money to lend a hand to poor people than why shouldn’t I do it.What made it so significant for me is that I could build up my priorities straight and put my academic study and future career before anything else but at the same time, I didn’t forget to do something for the community, be part of the community I live in.
It is hard to explain how military family and a military environment have impacted on my life. Sometimes you have to feel it to understand. Having both parents in the military is really hard from time to time. Each parent always tries to apply his or her rules to me, so sometimes I was like between the devil and the deep sea. They often missed my school events such as Academic Awards. But it has a positive side too.
All this made me the disciplined man with sustainable character. All my peers were whimsical and flabby as compared to me. I think all these conditions helped me to achieve my educational goals and would provide me with an opportunity to enter summer scholarship program that could help my further education. For someone like me, it is a great chance to attend a college away from home in another state. I’ d like to know what it feels like to live away from home and make all decisions by myself and also take all responsibility for its effects. The military really showed me how both of my parents have earned their BA and MS degrees and they always told me that nothing should hold me back …
