Ras Al Khaimah is considered as one of the rising emirates on the Arabian Peninsula, as it constitutes United Arab Emirates’ northernmost point. Strategically, it is located within the several foremost routes between Europe and Asia. According to Kennet (2002), in the course of contemporary years, Ras Al Khaimah has experienced a rapid economic growth with the renaissance in the global economy. The economic growth of Ras Al Khaimah can be seen through the Middle East’s major developments in term of large scale projects. In this way, Ras Al Khaimah, along with the developing hospitality sector, is expected to stay positioning as a competing Middle Eastern destination.1.2 Ras Al Khaimah AirportIn the Persian Gulf sheikhdom of Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, the international airport, named as Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, runs with two passenger terminal buildings. The airport also focuses on some of the other operations such as aviation training facilities, aircraft maintenance, and cargo. Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, the long-time ruler of the United Arab Emirates inaugurated this airport in 1976.
Ras Al Khaimah International Airport could not be developed into a regional aviation hub or an international unlike the other airports such as Dubai International Airport, Dubai International Airport serves the largest city in the United Arab Emirates and is also considered as one of the busiest airports worldwide.
The number of tourists arriving to Ras Al Khaimah has increased significantly. As a result, RAK Airways (the national airline of Ras Al Khaimah) permitted the access to twenty-five charter airlines to over the source markets throughout the world. The operation of PAK Airways was started in the year of 2007 but the airline was suspended to carry on its regular operations in the next day. This was particularly due to the economic crisis.
